Reversibility Easily reversible in principle — stopping HRT causes hormones to fall back to menopausal levels over days to weeks, and symptoms typically return (though the transition can be uncomfortable, and some clinicians taper rather than stop abruptly). This makes HRT well-suited to "reconsidering" — you can try it, see how you feel, and step back if it isn't right. Also reversible, but slower and uneven. Stopping supplements or behavioral changes just returns your baseline; stopping structured exercise or a CBT program loses the gains within weeks. There is no hormonal withdrawal, which some see as a feature and others as slower to titrate against symptoms.

Tends toward natural / lifestyle

Women with milder symptoms, strong personal preference for non-hormonal paths, contraindications to HRT (medical history that makes HRT riskier), or those in a window where lifestyle changes have a genuine chance to be enough. Also commonly chosen by:
